What happened?
We were threatened. Not in-game, but in real life — with legal consequences. Apparently there are people who do not like the success of a community platform and spend their time trying to put obstacles in the way. Jealousy is not a rare loot.
What we did:
We sat down and completely reworked our entire platform. Not because we did anything wrong before, but because we wanted to make absolutely sure that no one — really no one — can come after us legally. From now on, tarkov-stammtisch.de fully complies with German and European data protection regulations (GDPR, TDDDG, DDG).
What has changed:
- •Cookie banner: Yes, we hate these things just like you do. But the law requires it, so we built one. It appears once, has two equal options, no dark pattern nonsense. Click whatever you want — we respect your choice.
- •Data export: You can now download all your data as PDF or JSON under Profile → Settings. Everything. Kills, quests, clips, profile data — the full package. Because it is your right.
- •Delete account: Also under settings. One click, confirm your username, done. No support tickets, no begging. Self-service, the way it should be.
- •Legal pages: Imprint, privacy policy, and terms of service have been completely reworked and are now also available in English. Up-to-date laws, correct references, everything solid.
- •Consent logging: Every cookie decision is logged server-side — not to track you, but so we can prove, if necessary, that everything was handled correctly.
What we do NOT do:
- •No Google Analytics
- •No ads
- •No third-party tracking
- •No sharing of your data with anyone
- •Our analytics only count anonymous page views — and only if you give consent
Why all of this?
Tarkov Stammtisch is a community project. We do not make money from it. We do this because we love Tarkov and want to build an awesome community. The fact that we now have to deal with legal paragraphs because someone wants to cause trouble — fine. We move on.
The platform stands. The community stands. And now more than ever.
TLDR: We are now fully GDPR compliant down to the last line of code. Cookie banner appears once, data export + account deletion as self-service, everything transparent. Haters gonna hate — we keep building.
